One thing that a webmaster should know about Google algorithm changes is that, as a webmaster, blogger, or SEO guy, you have to know that Google usually releases one or more changes every day, these changes are designed to improve their search results. However, most of these changes are not noticeable to normal Google users. But they help them incrementally to continue to improve their services of providing realistic and relevant search results. You have to keep up to date and be in the know always. Just to give you an idea of how often Google changes, they had 3,200 algorithm changes in just 1 year alone.

You heard me right, 3,200 changes.

Check out this statement from Google regarding frequency of the changes of what they call “core updates”:

Several times a year, we make significant, broad changes to our search algorithms and systems. We refer to these as “core updates.” They’re designed to ensure that overall, we’re delivering on our mission to present relevant and authoritative content to searchers. These core updates may also affect Google Discover.

Content is Still King of the SEO jungle! Focus on content and user experience.

Below are Four todos Google wants every webmaster and SEOs to work on to stay relevant amid this algorithm changes.

A. Focus on asking what kind of Content are you able to provide your audience and its quality.

  1. Does the content provide original information, reporting, research, or analysis?
  2. Does the content provide a substantial, complete, or comprehensive description of the topic
  3. Does the content provide insightful analysis or interesting information that is beyond obvious?
  4. Does the headline and/or page title provide a descriptive, helpful summary of the content?
  5. Does the headline and/or page title avoid being exaggerating or shocking in nature?
  6. Is this the sort of page you’d want to bookmark, share with a friend, or recommend?
  7. Would you expect to see this content in or referenced by a printed magazine, encyclopedia, or book?

 

B. Dive deep into your expertise

  1. Does the content present information in a way that makes you want to trust it, such as clear sourcing, evidence of the expertise involved, background about the author or the site that publishes it, such as through links to an author page or a site’s About page?
  2. If you researched the site producing the content, would you come away with an impression that it is well-trusted or widely-recognized as an authority on its topic?
  3. Is this content written by an expert or enthusiast who demonstrably knows the topic well?
  4. Is the content free from easily-verified factual errors?
  5. Would you feel comfortable trusting this content for issues relating to your money or your life?

 

C. Present the best of your website but do not distract from the main focus, your Content.

  1. Presentation and production questions
  2. Is the content free from spelling or stylistic issues?
  3. Was the content produced well, or does it appear sloppy or hastily produced?
  4. Is the content mass-produced by or outsourced to a large number of creators, or spread across a large network of sites, so that individual pages or sites don’t get as much attention or care?
  5. Does the content have an excessive amount of ads that distract from or interfere with the main content?

 

Lastly, while content is king, remember you are serving people like you who are searching for answers.

  1. Does the content provide substantial value when compared to other pages in search results?
  2. Does the content seem to be serving the genuine interests of visitors to the site or does it seem to exist solely by someone attempting to guess what might rank well in search engines?

In conclusion: Google wants every website to contain relevant, informative, authoritative information to display for people who are using the platform to look for answers to their problem. Focusing on the user rather than someplace else, will give your content way more value than the rest in your niche.. Put yourself as a user of your website, are you happy with the results when you search the internet using Google search engine with your content? If you are, the probability of your content being ranked higher than your competitors is probably truer than you realize.
